i just replaced the whole distributor.. wlel my dad's friend whos ben a mechanic for like 30-35 yearsand owns his own shop fixed it . He replaced the distributor because the car wouldnt idle or drive for ****.. turns out.. dizzy was cracked. so he replaced it.. i dont knwo if he replaced the ignition module.

If it has spark, it is probably not the ignition module. Maybe the fuel safety shutoff switch behind the panels in the hatch needs replacing.

Listen I just had the same problem and it ended up being the TPS. It eventually got bad enough where it would start but when I put it in drive it would immediately die. Do this next time it doesnt start unplug the TPS if it starts after that you need to adjust it.

If it has spark it's not going to be ignition. Fuel pumps do do that, it's very common, they usually don't just die instantly, I see this ALL the time. Tap the gas tank under the fuel pump with a hammer, while you're turning it over, should fire up.

well i just replaced the fuel pump, and it worked fine for like a week. and now its starting to do it again. i let it sit for about 2 hours and then i go to crank nit up and BAM starts right up with no problem. yes there is fuel and everything.. it sjsut when the car is hot.. it doenst crank up it.. the motors just keeps turning over and over.

mine did this when I first did my cam, what do you have the timing set at?
my fix was a new ignition module on the side of the distributor, started when cool, but shut itself off when hot. and wouldnt fire back up.
