Default Noise in my front end

I have the most annoying creaking noise coming from my front end. it only does it when i turn, sometimes it doesn't but most of the time it does. the closest i've been able to trace it was by getting under the car and having someone turn the wheel to a position where it would make the creak. i felt a knocking in the steering rack that coincided with the creaking the hardest. it's a 94 gt. any help would be appreciated.

struts!! mine creak like a mother. i dunno about the knock in your rack though. the creak is most likely your strut mounts.

i think i found my problem. one of the bolts mounting the steering rack was causing the knock as tension was applied to the steering wheel, so i removed the nut and oiled around it, now the creaking has disappeared, time will tell but at least my car doesn't sound like it's falling apart now!

sueaking when you hit bumps, that could be your spring isolators worn out.

no. theyre really cheap. easy to check. just take off your wheel, brake caliper, rotor. unhook the strut from under the hood, the swaybar end link, and with the car on jackstand you need to have the control arm jacked up to compress the spring. and dont forget to unhook the abs sensor too. lower the jack slowly and the spring will decompress. and itll fall right out then. the isolator is the rubber peice on top. if its worn in two, youll need to replace it. if you dont undrrstand that just take it to a shop and tell them to check your spring isolators.
