should i...

i have a little bit of a problem. im looking to buy a mustang, but i am between two different ones. The first is a 1995 GT 5.0 and the other is a 1999 gt 4.6. Im looking to "personalize" whatever i get and i know that the 5.0 is much cheaper and easier to modify. however, the 4.6 already has 45hp? on the 95. But ive read that the 99-04 models drive better than the 94-98... the 95 has 77,000 miles on it and the 99 has like 99,000 on it. also, the 95 is priced at 5,800 and the 99 at 9,500. which one would be the better buy?

Well depends on looks and speed too. If you want a nice car for price to price I would take the 95, but the only down to that is that it is a vert. You can spend less then $4000 and get 100horses out of 5.0s that if you want speed and looks. Really depends on looks and speeds. I personally like sn95, better. But it is a cert which I dislike, making it heavier too. Ohh btw 5800 is a little too much, should be able to get him to $5000 with eaze just by showing him what other people offer. Reason being is that if I wanted to get a 94 cobra, I could pay less then $1k to get a cobra then what that guy is asking. Look here -> http://www.craigslist.org/sby/car/153799226.html

go with what YOU want.... the 99 is newer so itll prob drive and handle better but with the extra mony youd be saivn with the95 you could have a way cooler car with over 300 hp and looks

RE: should i...

i figured i could get them down to 5,000, then trade in my 95 blazer which i hope to squeeze about 1500-2000 for it (its a total piece), which would drop it down to 3,000-3,500

for me its the 99 without question. I do love 5.0's but i dont really like 95's. I agree with tim, get the 99 and make it look like a cobra.

three things to consider, budget, budget and budget.

do whatever works best with your budget. if you have to get the 99 because it works out better, go for that. if the 95 works better cause of the 5.0 and ease of getting aftermarket parts, thats where you should go. i have a 66 i HAD to buy at any cost. paid a grand, knew it needed a little tlc, but it didn't really fit into my budget. i'm in no way shape or form in regret of chosing to buy it, just pissed i can't do anything with it and it's sitting in my drive way for about 1 1/2 years collecting rust.

GL with your choice

the 95 is the way to go. its easier to build, cheaper, and i like the fluid body better than the ridgy bodies of those 99+ the only one i would own is the 03-04 cobra, ive outrun those 99+tangs with my car when it was stock except gears. the 95 will look killer with some body peices and nice 18's. the chioce is clear here bro. thats a great buy on a car with that low mileage. you can put a good topend kit and gears in that car with no internal work at all. post pics when you get it. cause i know its the one you want bro.

i would say a lot of it would be based on what you mean by personalize it. Do you want it to go fast or look cool (i really hope you say go fast). The vert would be the biggest problem there. I would go with the 95 but i am partial to the body style and it has lower mileage.

i just read a little bit of a piece done in one of the stang mags on the sn95 5.0's. they are nice, but are slightly harder to find aftermarket parts for compared to the older 5.0's. good bang for the buck, minor weight problem (still better than the mn12's). i forgot the name of the mag, but for your own sake i recommend you go to the closest barnes & noble or anywhere with a decent mag rack and look at the stang mags. one of them will have a little piece on the sn95's that should help you decide. GL bro

I would say the 99 just b/c i like that body style and i would never own a convertable. But in the end its up to you. Do you really think you would buy the 95 and go straight to summit and order a bunch of parts with that money? I know for a fact i wouldnt, i would probably have half of it spent by the time i got to the parts store. :D But again thats just me. I used to have a 99 so i guess im a lil partial to those.;)
