Hmm. Theres not near 2 inches... like I said 2 or 3mm. With the car running, the belt does not rub so is that still all right?

yeah, you're OK with only 2-3 mm clearance. this happens when you change the pulleys, I have a similar situation on mine where I moved the tensioner over to the AC bracket when I pulled off the air pump and power steering and got a shorter belt. another way to check is to rev the motor and watch the belt to see if it flexes enough to cause the belt to touch itself as it goes over the pulleys in question. if it don't, then don't worry about it. keep an eye on it though as the belt will stretch some over time and reduce the clearance.
