Default How big of a throttle body spacer should I go?

Im deleting my EGR so Im going to get a plate custom made for me since I can't find one in 70mm anywhere.. I can get anywhere from 3/8 - 1 inch (1 inch will be about twice the price). Should I go with 1 inch? or no? Since the EGR won't be there anymore it's not like heat's going to be an issue through the intake, or does it make a difference?

Also, how much can I space the plenum (upper intake) with the stock hood?
