Default 90 GT Convert

Ok, I'm new to the forum and finally bought a 90GT stang after years of wanting one. Its stock now with 100K on it. I am sure this is a popular questions but what can I do in order of price to get the best performance. I don't want to spend a ton of money; at least not yet. Thanks

Start with the basics: gears, cold air intake, exhaust, headers, etc.

wow, 90 gt vert, my fav, maybe cuz i have one
cold air intake $140
if its 5sp, get a short throw $160
msd6al and coilw/wires cap rotor$250
exhaust, get rid of those 4 cats!!! $500
3.73 gears if 5spd, 4.10 if an automatic$550 inst.

this combo will imo, get you the best bang for your buck, and should put you solid into the 14's, remember verts are heavy.

first plan what you want your car to be- if you want it to eventually be a street monstar or just a pretty fast street car, or a track car (not common for verts but i have seen it done).

first thing in my opinion you should do is get full exhaust, like said above, those 4 cats kill you. If you have to pass emmisions, get two high flow cats.

if you want serious power, go heads/ cam/ intake swap (trickflow, edelbrock, and holley are some good names) that will get you to around 300hp or get a supercharger first (wich should get you to around 300hp depending on boost) and go from there.
-and of course there is the turbo if you have the time/money should get you to 350-500hp depending on boost.

Thanks for the info. Any suggestions with exhaust (product, cost)? I just want a faster street car but I want to maintain the reliability.
