Default Anyone whose EFI smart

Have a customer with a 94 gt auto, the car burns really lean, did this before and burnt up a piston. They took this car to another shop and got a rebuilt installed. The car still pings and has a severe vibration, feels like a driveline vibration due to the high frequency possibly torque converter. If anyone has any suggestions how to get rid of the pinging please reply.

Are the Balancer and Flexplate still balanced? Maybe out of balance and causing the timing to be off.

Is that going to cause my severe pinging? This is a new rebuild in the car now.

If the dampner spun wouldn"t spin again, this is the second engine in this car with the same problem. This pinging melted down the last engine.

Different engines....are you using the same distributor from the first engine?....any chance of running a set of KOEO/KOER self-tests to check the system for codes?......timing set at 10° initial or lower?.....
