really want skinnies on front
i have 17"saleens all around, love the side profile, but i really want skinnies on front. i know i can have the rims narrowed, but what are the normal width tires that are run on the front if you have skinnies? how wide should the rims be? who makes an 4x17 tires ? will they look to tall ? i really like the spoke look on wheels, but i am thinking i might want to consider some weld 15" prostars or something else. any one have an opinion? thanks.

They can do it. About a buc fitty/wheel. Already checked into it for my bullits.
As far as the tire goes, you can get a 205 in 45, 50,55, or 60 series tire.

ha ha ha, so sorry
but seriously, how do you get your rims narrowed? Wouldn't that be cheaper than getting some new cobra r's (in my case, cause you know, thats what rims I have) in theory anyway?

RE: really want skinnies on front
getting your front wheels narrowed will allow you to run a thinner tire in the front... the "theory" behind it stems directly from drag racing. The point in having a skinny wheel up front is to
1.) make less weight in the front end
2.) make less tire roll through the bleach box before you do your burnout. this causes less water to be pulled up into the lanes with you... allowing you to get maximum traction (your rear tires dont get water under them)
3.) they just look cool ('nuff said)

I've heard that running skinnies on a DD isn't that smart. You lose braking power and your steering isn't as good as before. I was thinking of buying some draglites all the way around on mine and a lot of people advised me not to if it was my daily driver.
