i wouldnt convert my auto to manual unless it was a close-ratio 6 speed [8D]

auto's are fast.. my friends z28 is a 4 speed and hangs with 6 speeds with only a shift kit.. thats GM though [:'(]

auto's are no faster than manual tranny's. There's more parasitic loss in an auto. Stock for stock the manual will win everytime provided the driver knows how to drive. Remapped autos or autos that have stalls installed no longer qualify for stock status.

I agree

Little bit of work you can make a auto shift harder then a 5speed.

Too boring for me. All my Fords are manual, I will never own another automatic. When I was 19 my parents talked me into buying a brand new automatic mustang and the tranny went out at 20,000 miles. I traded that ASAP afterwards for a 5-speed T-Bird.

not to mention if you build em, they are more consistent at the strip and can shift quicker and harder. big stall, trans brake, and a built transmission w/ manual valve body. A Gm th400 tranny can withstand damn near anything.

I have autos simply because I couldn't find a T5 5.0 that wasn't beat to shat. I won't do the swap, I'm just going add a 3000 rpm stall.
