Default My 89 GT has massive smoke in the exhaust, need help

the temp gauge was at the middle point but the car over heated bigtime. sucks when the sensor is bad. but anyways, now the car runs real rough, extreme loss in power and has a lot of white smoke comming out of the exhaust. is this blown head gaskets? or what else could it be? thanks for any help given.

Could be gesket or cracked or warped head. Did you drive it or have it towed?

Time for a compression test. It could be a bad intake gasket; but do the compression test first......

i had it towed. after it cooled down, i started it and it blew masive white smoke out the exhaust and had no power when reving the engine. ill do the compression check. the engine is only a year old and under warranty from discount auto. should i just call and get a new one and just swap the whole thing out? im afraid to void the warranty if i break down the engine to change gaskets or whatever may be the problem. thanks for the quick reply.

Call & ask them what you should do. IMHO there usually are lead "emblems" on the ends of the head & block freeze plugs on mass reman motors. If any of them are melted, which they are supposed to do if you overheat the motor; the warranty is void......

Double the block is fubared, you have to get a engine real hott to warp a block the heads usually go way before the block...........I will lay money on the head gaskets or the heads being warped either way do a comp check and see what you have.......then start twistin those wrenches!
