What prep work done at home can help lower the average paint job price?

Touch ups wont be that much, but it will never look great.... your trying to match brand new paint to faded 10 year old AT LEAST 10 years old depending on what year youve got.

Usually, the more you pay the more you get. Most of a paint job is LABOR!!! For example, My dad got clipped while he was parked about a month ago. Small dent in the front fender and an ever so fiant scratch on the door because of it. They ordered a whole new fender for a whopping 150$ or so, and shot that along with the door. Total cost came to just over 1100$. So, you figure 100$ for supplies and another 150 for the fender leaves you with 850$. Yup, thats 850$ worth of labor. Of course, this was a top notch body shop, and the paint is AMAZING!!!! Absolutly ZERO orange peel and it has depth like you wouldnt believe.
