Default plans for my car- your input...

Here we go: my current mods are:

3.90 gears
3000 rpm converter
shift kit
trans. cooler/gauge
ported lower intake
u/d pulleys
shorty headers, x-pipe, dynomax ultraflow with dumps
subframes, control arms, front lowering springs
electric fan/no smog pump.

all that is good for an 8.8 at 79 mph with a 2.0 60ft.

My plan this summer is to:

convert to t-5 and sell the converter and aod to make some money back.

convert to manual rack to get rid of that whining power steering/stealing pump.

buy a used nitrous kit with a 190 lph fuel pump.

with these mods i'm hoping to run 8.4's n/a and 7.8's with the juice.

any input, question, comments?

Yea I would do the Big mods first then pile on the little stuff.

Your car looks like a beast, no make it a beast by putting part under the hood.

You have a great foundation, but I agree with the others..... get some aluminum heads.
The t-5 conversion will be fun to drive with those gears.

you you want to get faster than invest in some supspension mods..keep the automatic..also converting to a manual rack will get some wt off the front with deleting the ps pump...you can use 1 from a ford fairmont and I believe autozone has them for about 100.00...those lowering spring in the front doesn't help wt transfer unless, they are from a 4 banger or a drag spring
I would invest in some 1.7 rocker to help the stock cam, I hope you have a bigger maf like about a 76mm C/L

2 kwik- i meant to say an upgraded maf sensor will be bought sometime next month.

rsw007- i know you have had great success with your combo, but i would be spending a ton of money (around 1500-2000?) on essentially the same thing...

My budget is about 1500 dollars:

T-5 swap ~600 dollars if i sell off the old parts
MAF sensor with intake tube~200 dollars
Used nitrous kit~350
manual rack~150

watcha think?
