RE: Posi Trac Question
Posi trac is chevy's name for a Trac Lok
Pontiac: Safe-T-Track
Ford: Equa-Lock and Trac-Lok
American Motors Corporation: Twin-Grip
Mopar: Sure Grip
Ferrari: E-Diff
They all work on the same principle... clutches, planetary gears, or viscous fluids. All need maintenance, and only one will fit your rear end... the Trac-Lok.
There are plenty of aftermarket units that will fit your unit if you're interested, i suggest the Powertrax unit from my general research.
A Chevy unit won't fit your car.

RE: Posi Trac Question
The only limited-slip diff that doesn't use clutchtes is a Torsen-type geared diff. Auburns use cone clutches, and lockers are no-slip diffs.
