Default Speed Density

What is the limit of mods that you can do with the speed density set up?

I know it's better to go with the mass air but I was just wanting to know what the boundries were on the speed density. Thanks

So I can at least use some iron GT-40 heads and a Trick Flo intake with a larger thottle body?
I've heard the same thing from others that when you change the cam it all goes down south from there, but I didn't know why.

^^marx91 ill argue with ya you can change the cam. go to corral.net and look it up. there are certin cams that will work with SD cars. U are better off to switch to mass air.

As Tim 88GT said....you could upgrade the cam, but within a very narrow duration/overlap specifications range. Having a vacuum controlled system (speed density) makes it very susceptible to cams that will lower engine vacuum production...specifically at idle/part throttle.... Less vacuum = richer A/F + driveability problems + idle problems.....heads/intake/exhaust/drivetrain are upgrades that shouldn't cause major problems though. My 2¢.

Intake and cam are pretty much all you can get away with for engine mods, heads are reeeally pushing it, lots of people have problems with heads.

I have not had an issue with GT40 heads, a Cobra intake, 65mm TB, 24 pounders, full exhaust...
