iron vs aluminum
besides weights savings...is there really any other difference in perforamce from a set of good iron heads compared to aluminum
|
RE: iron vs aluminum
yea, they run cooler too
|
RE: iron vs aluminum
Out side of those 2 facts I can't think of any real advantages to Aluminum from a performance standpoint....
|
RE: iron vs aluminum
Yeah, easier to install you damn near pull a back muscle dropping e-7's in!
|
RE: iron vs aluminum
no kidding on that one. but weight savings is another good benefit considering how much u have to pay for them
|
RE: iron vs aluminum
Not exactly ikey. Aluminum tends to hold a good bit of heat, and since aluminum is not as dense as iron it moves easyer. thats why aluminum heads are prone to warping.

RE: iron vs aluminum
also aluminum heads can absorb more heat as someone said before but this also helps you to run more timing and prevent pinging
|
RE: iron vs aluminum
Aluminum heats up and cools faster than cast.
|
RE: iron vs aluminum
You can run more timing with less octane.

RE: iron vs aluminum
this is interesting...
