besides weights savings...is there really any other difference in perforamce from a set of good iron heads compared to aluminum

Out side of those 2 facts I can't think of any real advantages to Aluminum from a performance standpoint....

no kidding on that one. but weight savings is another good benefit considering how much u have to pay for them

Not exactly ikey. Aluminum tends to hold a good bit of heat, and since aluminum is not as dense as iron it moves easyer. thats why aluminum heads are prone to warping.

also aluminum heads can absorb more heat as someone said before but this also helps you to run more timing and prevent pinging

Aluminum heats up and cools faster than cast.
