Default Crossover tube between heads?

Still trying to troubleshoot code 94. Has anyone heard of the crossover tube for the thermactor system becoming clogged? Also, how hard is it to remove this tube.

Mine was clogged. I took it off and got 2 5/8 bolts and pluged to holes in the heads.

Yep...BTSTDTRT....nothing that removing it and some oxy-ace heating can't take care of, or a replacement tube...if the crosover is clogged, a good chance that the head passages at the back are clogged too, is possible. My 2ยข.

Thanks for the replies folks. So is it easy to get the pipe off of the heads? It looks like it might be tough. Also, will I be able to clean the passages in the heads w/the heads still on the car?

What's more, why are those passages clogged in the first place? Carbon? From where? Thanks again.

Carbon from the exhaust. You are probably burning some oil.

Yeah, I'm burning a little. So is removing this pipe easy, or is it awkward and frustrating?

Not that hard to remove....a little uncomfortable at the back of the heads, but that's it.....just make sure you work on a cold engine though. GL

Added: A word of caution, careful how you handle the check valves, if they're a little old they tend to snap in two.

Thanks everyone. One last question: Will I need a new gasket or something to reinstall the crossover tube?

No new gaskets....recommend to use a thin layer of hi-temp Ultra-Copper Permatex on the rear head flanges to ensure sealing though.
