Well...ever since I can remember my pony hasnt had much oil pressure. I was told it was a Ford thing...but it still makes me shutter when I look at my guage. I just noticed the other day that when the engine is at an idle...and I slam the pedal to the floor...whether in neutral or drive gear...theres piston slap. So I think theres a problem. What could it be? The sender unit? Pump? Screen?

how many miles?...cam bearings prob worn?.....have you tried flushing it.

105k on it. No...I havent really tried to do anything. I'm waiting for the opportunity to pop open the heads and see why she ticks so loud. I havent really had the time or money to dig into her yet.

get a real gauge first to confirm that you really have low oil pressure

oh hell no!....you should have 40 psi at 2k

no. basically its a dummy gauge. mine used to read 3/4 all the way up.

when i got my autometer mechanical, i found out i have 50 psi cruising when warm, and around 26-27 at idle when warm.

mine has oil pressure at 2k but then when im at an idle it goes wayyy below 0. Any suggestions?

Well your gauge isnt working or your car aint gonna work for much longer (like hours) if you have 0 psi... get a new gauge...

ya it dosent do it all the time tho just 1ce in awhile but when i drive the oil pressure is normal....
