RE: what speedo gear do i need
yes, 6t + 18t is what you want.
i'm using that w/ my 4.10's and just did the math....i'm overreading about 4-5 mph right now.
3.73's should be right on.
but i'm not so sure the tailshaft pops right off like stated b4.....the shift lever needs to be removed if i remember right.
maybe i'm stoned, i can look tomorrow, my old t5 is torn apart and in my garage, i was taking it apart anyways, not just changing speedo drive gear , so i could very well be way off.
but if thats the case , to get the shift lever detached it is a total disassembly

I have the 8-tooth green drive gear and went w/ a 23 tooth white speedo gear ($12 Ebay). Just installed it, but my car is not running yet, so I'll let you know how it works. I have 3.55's, BTW. 3.73's are supposed to use the same gear.
