Hey guys, I just need to know if anyone can help with this. Any time I floor the gas pedal, some weird tingling (knocking) noise comes from the engine. At first I though the engine was detonating, but I filled her up with 91 octane to make sure, but the noise persisted. Can anyone help me on this one?????

You can still have detonation with 91 octane. Is the sound like a pecking on something hollow with a hammer sound or what?

Yeah, its like a pecking noise on something hollow. So what do you think it may be. I also think it could be something to do with the timing

You're timing sounds overly advanced. Try knocking it back a few degrees. (get a timing light first though)

Could be bearings. Will it do it a stand still in nuetral or park or just under a load?

It does the noise when I floor the gas, or when Im going up on a 5% or higher slope. It will not do it at all when at parking, or at cruising speeds.

definetly check the timing. it should be at 10* with the spout out. if not set it to 10 and see if it still does it. i bet it wont than after that you can try to advance it some. maybe 12 or 13*.

Thanks alot guys. I'll check the time then (which I should have done ages ago). Oh, how rude of me, posting in a mustang forum without stating what I run.
