get your dads buddies trans. the junkyard car will be alot of work, and unless you need parts from the junk car, its useless.

Don't buy a junkyard car/trans.... Find a reputable shop in your area, and get the trans rebuilt with a few goodies.... Save your pennies, because a converter will make a night and day difference in what you have now and what you will end up with.... Good luck

I would always take a good parts car...you can part it out and make some $$. Besides, you know how nice it is to have spares around when trouble shooting. Buy the car.

this is true if you have a trailor to get it home, and room for it. there might be some city ordinances against a sitting car too.

I know that Autozone takes in high milage trannys and rebuilds them then they sell them for basically nothing. Try out there if you have one close by.

T5 all the way...adds to the fun factor. I was thinking about doing the conversion to my 7-UP. But I decided to keep the aod and get a shiftkit and some other performance mods for the 'ol slushbox.
