Default THERMOSTAT

Well I have a new thermostat to install on this new motor and I don't have anything to reference to on which way the thermostat installs. This thermostat does not have any marking on it for flow. Any help will be appreciated!

Thanks!

put the end with the temperature bulb on it into the motor side. next time remember to take a good look at the old one when you take it out so you'll know which way to install the new one!

Also stay away from the chrome goose neck, I read that they leaked, but just had to have one anyway. Two months after installing the p.o.s I smell antifreeze, opened the hood sure enough leak at the neck. put the stock one back on, two years later still high and dry.

If you are in a warm climate get a 160 stat.

As far as the chrome housing you need to rough the chrome up in order to get it to seal.I did this with chrome valve covers that leaked like crazy.

Also are you guys using any gasket makers or silicones?I always hit all my gaskets with PERMATEX copper gasket spray and let it get tacky then put them on and ive yet to have one leak.Im talking every gasket from rear end to engine.

yea i run the 180 on my 93 stang i have put two in since i bout it new just cuz i figured after 5 years of one in i better just chage out again i run the Napa Super Duty one. I also run a Alumi Grrifin Radiator for a 5 years two and my stang runs very cool like 2 notches below half and when in traffic in bummber to bumber in florida it gets to Half, but i had one time it was running hot in traffic and come to find out my water pump was just bad and i swap that out cuz it was leaking from the check valve. I reccommend the aluni radiator my stang never has ran cooler. Never put a 160 in does mess with the puter. Liquide Out

WOW really the 160 stat effects the computer?

One more reason for me to hate EFI!

I run a 160,3 core, aluminum high flow pump and i rarely see 180 in stop and go traffic in the mid summer at its hottest.

It runs damn nice and cool. But im carbed too so i have no EFI crap preventing me from keeping it that cool.
