ey i have a 94 mustang and in my car i couldnt go passed 3500 rpm i had to shift at or before 3500 even if i would keep on flooring it it just woulnt go any were every single gear was like that, and it was wasting to much gas, and all that was rong with it was a spout connector, i dont know if this is related at all to your problem but just tought it might help, my spout connector was only $10

5th gear is an overdrive gear and it' not designed to pull, just let the engine slow down some and then you can get a higher top speed overall, but it takes a while to get there in overdrive. without the OD, you wouldn't have gotten to 115 at all. don't know what the smell could be. as for the smell when cornering, it could be burnt rubber as you don't have to spin the tire to burn the rubber but spinning sure helps burn it quicker.

Yeah the cats are still on the car for now, can someone tell me where to get some straight pipes or some type of pipe to weld on to bypass the cats? will it make my car faster? And the smell might be the overflow from the raditor cause theres not a overflow tank... But the caps holding alot of pressure we tested it...

sounds to me like you could have a MAF sensor problem. My MAF was bad and the gears would be sluggish down low, then when in fifth gear it would barely go anywhere. Simply because the malfunction in the MAF was messing with the MAP and not reading the air correctly, causing it to not perform correctly. Check that out, hope it helps.
