Default Looking For A Cylinder Head Kit

Hey all. I'm looking to buy a decent set of performance heads for my mustang. It's in desperate need of new heads, so I figured if I get anything, why not get something worth it with a lil extra power to it, too. If I buy a set of heads, lets say like these: http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...0%201&comp=LRS or like these: http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...0%201&comp=LRS (which ever one is better), will I have to buy anything more than just the heads? Do I have to buy new studs or w/e? I have never done anything like this to a car, I'm a newb [:'(]. Any help will be appreciated because it sucks having to fill up my motor with motor oil everyday....

OK. So if I buy those heads, all I need to do is just buy the heads?

the Twisted Wedge heads require a longer pushrod. you want 6.7" pushrods.
New lifters are cheap and would be a good idea too.

better roller rocker arms too. $200 or so.
ARP head bolts too.

Damnit [:@]! I was hoping I wouldn't have to spend more than $1300...See, I'm having my mom charge the heads to her credit card, and I'll be paying her the difference each month. Is there an alternative set of heads for possibly a little cheaper with the same benefits as the TFS Track Heat heads?

you shouldnt have to spend much more than $1300

trickflow heads....... $1250
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=TFS-51400004

ARP head bolts ......... $50
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=ARP-154-3601

gasket set ............. $90
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=TFS-51400904

rocker arms ........... $270
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=TFS-51400510

push rods ............. $90
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...t=TFS-21406700

Total ............... $1750.00 ........ you could try and re-use stock rocker arms but most
people frown at that

that should do a good correct installation

If you want to save some money and still get some good performance check out
http://www.thumperoforangepark.com/
he has a $1000 kit with ported heads, cam and timing chain for under $1000.

comparison:
TrickFlow flow: 242 / 170 @ .5 lift
Thumper head flow: 219 / 154 @ .5 lift.
not as good as the TF heads, but pretty close
stock head flow is only 156 / 108

Unless you're spraying or running boost, you don't need to buy the O-ring'd heads. Google the part number for the regular TW's and you can find them for around $1050 new. And you can upgrade the valve springs as an option. Get used roller rockers off here or ebay and some pushrods...
