Transmission pan with temp sensor in it?
I have a 94, 5.0 with an automatic aode in it. i just had it completley built to the max , the guy that installed my transmission temp sensor drilled a hole in the side of my pan and then welded it in... (garbage) i ust put 13 and a half quarts of hurst hot shift in it, $8.00 a piece and i think its dripping out of that hole. what can i do? i havent even driven the car yet its still on stands. is there a way i can save the fluid? is there a way i can get a new pan with a temp sensor in it? or another place i can put 1??

the side of the transmission pan, he drilled a hole put the temp sensor in and then welded it then syliconed it. this is why i am never letting anyone else work on my car again...COB JOB ARTISTS.... i will teach myself 100 times over and mess it up before ill let someone else charge me and mess it up!

To be honest he is a smart man, But it sounds like he did a hack job doing it, you need to weld a fitting on the pan so all u need to do if put teflon tape on it and screw it in.

i think when i pulled the transmission out to have it rebuilt i may have put a lil pressure on it, i just hate having to work out all these nitty gritty things.. i wanto drive it!!

yep if u put pressure on it you broke the weld. drain the oil, use brake cleaner and wipe the weld down, than get jb weld or something and put it around it, thats all i can think of unless u have a welder.
