My trans has started sliping really bad recently, so last week i took it to a trans shop down the street from my house. The guy told me that the front seal was busted on it and that he thinks the pump in it is also starting to go out. He said that he would charge about 370 to drop the trans out and replace the seal in and while it was out he would test all the internals and see if it should just be rebuilt while it was out rather than waiting a month to have everything break after paying the money to fix the seals. My question is since the car has almost 145 thousand on it do you think it would be a better idea to just get a trans? And if so where is the best place to get a good transmission for a pretty good price. Also how much more would it cost to switch it over to a standard? I also thought that 400 was alittle steep to replace the seals and he said around 1000 to rebuild. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks
