Default which MAF for a fairly stock setup?

just wondering which mass air meter i should run with a stock '92 mustang which has o/r h, flowmaster catback, and will have cold air intake. that's it.

what i'm wondering is which size i should run and what brands are reccomended. for instance, i hear C&L aren't so great.

oh.. and i'm planning on basic bolt-on modifications at most.. throttle body, manifold, headers...

76mm should be fine, and leaves room for mods.

oh, another question: do i really even need to upgrade the MAF? the reason i was upgrading is because i was switching to a cold air intake instead of the short ram setup w/ stock air tube. in that case, i thought the meter might need changed to read the colder air and what not. but, technically, the stock intake box drew in air from inside of the fender, right? so why is this all of a sudden considered "cold air intake".. if it was like that stock? i'm just not sure if it will be worth the money.. i mean, $200 for this part. i could get gears and some for that money. what am i getting out of this 75/76mm MAF is my question? what's the advantage with a stock setup?

lol omg.. are you guys even reading what i'm typing? first of all, i'm asking about mass air meters. secondly, which is what i just posted, i just want to know if i need one when i'm running a fairly stock engine setup and switching from stock air intake tube to "cold air intake" (which looks like the same setup as stock being mounted in the fenderwell and all).

NO! leave the stock one alone for right now and spend that money elsewhere. When you do upgrade, wait until you're doing some mods that will require the larger mass air and do it all at the same time.

exactly.... just drop the $35 or so on an ebay CAI, keep your stock MAF, and put the rest of the money elsewhere... like a set of gears
