Default bought lock cylinder(please respond)

as i said i bought a new ignition and my problem is still not fixed my car will still turn on but not off i have to stall it to shut it off [:@] what can this be im stumped now

no what happened was i started it and it stuck in the"start" postition so i thought maybe its just dirty ill clean it at home then when i got home i turn the key to turn the car off the and nothin happened

Did you just buy a tumbler? Or did you replace the ignition switch? Definately sounds like the ignition switch

did you get the switch or module? If its the switch with the key you probaly didnt put it in correct. The lever in the back has to go in the slot a certain way to work right.

Did you install any additions (electric motor, aftermarket whatever) to the engine, and getting the power feed from the ignition coil, or any other source under the dash?...I ask b/c it reads as a possible "feedback" problem.....Let us know.

I would check the ignition switch cause it does have to be about in the middle when you install it, you gotta wiggle the key then it drops in, I had this problem last year and it took a few tries before I got it right.

Definately sounds like ignition switch. They're like 20 bucks, I'd just replace it.
