i havent looked at the balancer yet is there a way the rubber in it could be cracked and it slipped on itself (coming apart?)

i work at a chevy garage and we checked it cause i wanted to bump it up the mechanic put a light on it and almost s**t needless to say i left it alone, i bought the car bout twoo weeks ago and the guy said he didnt advance it so who knows how long it has been like that or why.
That's not your base timing. When the module is plugged in...the computer will advance your timing to allow for best mileage. My ECU advances my timing to 31*. Base is 10. Take the little module out. It's the plug that is near the distributor. Its a little wire that looks like its capped off. Take it off and start it. That is your base timing.

lol I'm sorry but if you pulled it out...and your timing reads 20*...you have some serious problems ahead of you.

PS I forgot he had a SN95... Thought it was a fox.
