The Gt-40 will fit def. without the spacer and I'm about 65% sure it will fit with the spacer as long as the spacer isn't bigger than 5/8 or an inch.

Hey ikeybmg, no not to clear the valve covers, it was my understanding that the spacer allows for a little more air space???? But I know it is also mainly to clear aftermarket valve covers. What do you figure I shouldn't bother with the spacer.........I still have stock valve covers.[sm=helpout.gif] Oh, and it's the 1" spacer.

The spacer isn't to give you more air. It's meant for allowing a cooler denser charge. I'm assuming the its one of the phenomolic (don't know how to spell but you know what I'm talking about). If so those are made of a material that doesn't transer heat, like metal does. So it allows the upper intake to reamain some what cooler than the lower intake and the rest of the engine. Hence giving you a cooler charge entering the engine. Of course they also help with valve cover clearance.

Just a thought but why don't you just take the stock intake off and put the spacer and manifold in place and hand tighten two bolts to hold it there and see if the hood will close GENTLEY!!!!! Then you know.

Good idea! That will save some work, the car is in storage for the next week, just got a new garage/driveway poured, so we can't drive on it til then. But yeah good thinkin'[sm=goodidea.gif]

Spacer also allows for better air fuel mix giving it more time before it enters the cylinders for a better burn!
