5.0L (1979-1995) MustangTechnical discussions on 5.0 Liter Mustangs within. This does not include the 5.0 from the 2011 Mustang GT. That information is in the 2005-1011 section.
Thats insane dude, you must have put some bigtime hours into those heads to get them to flow that much without any PA
they were maxed out, hit water jackets a few times and then welded them. Thats when TFS sent out a batch of heads that had wacked valve angles, needless to say it blew up shortly after due to TFS's screwup
I dont remember the exact numbers but I know it didnt crack 600hp, it was 10 years and 20 engines ago. It never got to the track, it was a street engine that blew up in a few weeks. It was in a 95GT.
I'm right around 350hp or so. I guaged this by racing cobras. Except for the supercharged ones I leave cobras pretty hard, as in I get on it in first let off the gas until they catch up nail second pull a couple of car lengths back off the gas again, let em catch up then nail it again. Im not planning on goin to the dyno cuz I dont really care what the exact HP figure is, plus it costs money that otherwise Id put into the car somewhere else.
-P.
PS: I have a new motor in the works for my 5.0 ranger........twin turbo. Supposedly it should make 1000hp.....we'll see.
