I have my 87 5.0 with an AOD tranny and i have a problem11 when i turn on the car n drive it 4 ten min or so or drive it hard , i come to a complete stop and my engine idles about 200 below normal idle back and fourth until it slowly starts to idle straight again?? it runs the same,, strong,,, what could it b????

Part of it sounds like the problem I had. I took off my distributor cap and cleaned the posts on the inside and that helped . Just a thought.

try cleaning your IAC

You could try cleaning the IAC. If that doesn't help 50retso sells a idle valve control( not sure of exact name) that allows you to control the air flow at idle. It helps you get a better idle quality and fine tune it to what your car needs at idle. If that doesn't help I still think you should look into your ignition components to make sure your car is running at its full potential anyways.
