Converting my 5.0 foxbody to a 4.6 32v cobra engine?

RE: Converting my 5.0 foxbody to a 4.6 32v cobra engine?
i've seen the swap in a few foxes down here in texas. as far as I heard you need a new k-member and tranny mounts, custom d/s, and headers/exhaust. Don't know about hood cause all of them had cowls but I'd imagine you'd prolly need a 2" cowl.
this is a bad a** swap and catches a lot of attention at shows and in the parking lot but.
if you wanted a 1g lightning engine I'd just do a built 351, the lightning heads and manifold are meant for torque. its your car though... I'll just stick with the charged 347 and put the money I save over the cobra swap into some pimp 13" gold daytons, 6 15" subs, and some cool pep boys stickers....then again maybe not

Well after talking to a few local stang shops in the area i realized nobody wants to do a conversion like this. I would do it myself but i don't have the time to do it myself.......so i just purchased a Ford Racing GT40X Aluminum Head 355HP Longblock Engine for $2500 shipped. Should be good enough for a little while until i get more money to put a kenne bell on it. Thanks for all the info guys

you can get me the engine and i'll do it. all you really needed for it was the engine and harness. a new k member for modulars, a different trans, a different cross memeber for the trans, a driveshaft and uh..i think thats just about it. this is acutally pretty common now. and those modulars in the foxes are bad. i think they're more impressive than 351 swaps.

NO WAY!!!! I'm planning on a 351W with TW heads and an "F" cam and KB blower at 12psi and 500+rwhp

ok if you want to be that way..........
I'll stroke my 351 out to a 427 put AFR 205 heads on there and run 20lbs of boost....... lol
I'll see your 600rwhp, and raise you to 650, lol

Displacement isnt what makes an engine work well. Its airflow. Youd have to work some AFR's for a blown 427, and have a custom cam made to make anywhere.
If it were that easy, everyone would do it
Thats the main reason im actually supporting the 03 cobra engine. It really is that easy. You can buy a kit that puts you at 575 rwhp. No machine work, no aftermarket heads, no touching the actual engine. All bolt ons. Find me any small block, pushrod engine you can do that to.
I despise modulars, but i definatly respect their potential.
