Weight Reduction 101

RE: Weight Reduction 101
You can strip your interior and still have it look like a Mustang. I did. I took all the sound insulation out and put some new black carpet in, ive got some summit seats on the way because the Mustang seats are breaking down anyways and they're heavy as hell. So....But yea...3-8 tenths is alot, you can do it cheaply to. Mustangs were meant to be hogged out and built to peoples specs. Weight reduction is one of the cheapest "Horse Power Adders" if you can call it that. Someone told me, that about every 6-8 lbs you take out, its like adding another horse power. So if you strip 200lbs out....you do the math.

1) Why even use any carpet?
2) use aluminum bolts to hold all the non-stressed parts on the car.
3) Make it so that all brackets etc are aluminum and each one does 2-3 jobs.
4) Use carbon fiber body panels, they are even lighter than fiberglass.
5) use titanium bolts on places that sre stressed.

I drive barefooted alot when im racing....i can really drive the hell out of a car like that lol....call me hillbilly and kiss my *** when i pass you. lol. But i got tired of my foot getting like roasted off on the floor pan where my exhaust comes close to it. Carpet is something i like anyways. No backseat though.
