I've always been told by my friends who have 99+ mustangs, that you should always get 4.10 gears. I log on this when i got my 95 5.0, and everyone is saying get 3.73's. Why is that? Why are 3.73's better on a 5.0 than 4.10's?

I was thinking about getting the Edelbrock SB-Ford Heads, but again a lot of people on here like the gt40 heads. Whats the difference in hp gain between the two? and why do people seem to like gt40's so much? thanks

Hey, 3.73's are not better than 4.10's. Some people just do not like 4.10's because of the high rpm cruising. Personally, if you have an auto I would definetly go with 4.10's and if you have a 5spd I would go with 4.10's anyway but 3.73's would do fine.

Also, alot of people like the GT-40's because they are a good bang for the buck head.

I would definately opt for the edelbrocks over gt-40's anyday. It comes down to price, gt40's are dirt cheap and theres a reason for that

4.6 GTs like different gears than 5L stangs. 3.73s in ur car would be equivelant to 4.10s in theirs. The trannys have different gear ratios. Their cars come with 3.27 gears stock where as yours has a 2.73 gear.
