Ok i have a friend that has all stock 89gt convertible 5 speed. the only thing done to it is it has flow master mufflers with stock exhaust pipe and cats. It also has heavy *** 18 chrome wheels and tires. He thinks he can beat my buddys 86 gt that has tf heads that flow 300 cfm on the intake side at 500 lift. 1.7 rockers trw pistons ,extrude honed cobra intake, 190 fuel pump, fpr, 24lb mass air and injectors, cai, tremek 5 speed, 3.73 gears, cfdf clutch, upper & lower controll arms, southside lift bars, drag shocks all around and drag springs and drag radials. he has more than that, but i cant think of it. the guy in the covert is willing to bet 1000 dollars heads up tommorrow. the only thing he could be doing is nitrous in that time and i dont think that will help being he will spin to hell. tell me what u all think. and also my friend with the 86 can drive very well. the other guy basickly is his first 5 speed.

he wont nessisarily spin using the nos BUT ur buddys 86 has the mods to win imo

sounds like its obvious, but ide make sure what the 89 has before i bet 1 grand lol.

300cfm on intake? ur buddys car has to be a dog with heads that flow that well and no power adder.

well ive rode in it and its not sluggish. and can be dumped at 4grand after a burnout and not spin on take off on the drag radials

the dude in the vert should just save his $1000 bucks and get a set of heads, or do some other mods before he runs his mouth like that!! Even if the dude with the 86' cant drive he should still smoke the vert heads up with all the mods you listed.

7500 rpm solves that real quick. My old clevelands flowed 320ish and we spun those motors to 9500 every weekend. Who needs a power adder [sm=icon_rock.gif]

Exactly.....the 86 is gonna whoop that 89 .... HARD! Youll melt down the 89 before you catch that 86. Even if it has the old school cast iron TFS heads with the "small valves" itll smoke ya.

he has told other people around our workplace that he has something up his sleeve so im thinking bottle. and the heads are twisted wedge and he has a e cam. i forgot that. also 31 spline axles. i will let u all know what happens. i think what he has up his sleeve is trying to bluff my friend out into not bringing his car. not gonna happen
