yea sure, I spliced the positive on the coil and ran a wire(12 gauge) to the interior of the car where the switch would be mounted. Thats all I did up front in the engine bay. On the inside i connceted the switch and my buddy wired the ground to a spot under the dash. Wen we cranked the car it turned on fine and then we smelled burnin so we killed it and the Ground insulation had melted right off. The car never fired up again. I kno that there is no spark leavin the coil. but there is power reachin the coil.

ok... sounds like a short circuit. im going to look at some wiring diagrams for that circuit. it will take me about 15 min....in the mean time can you clear up the pos wire spice(did you cut the wire and connect the new wire to it or did you tap the new wire into the pos wire)

i would start by putting the wiring back the way it was. When you turn key to "start" does the car crank? Does starter turn over?

coil may have been damaged. the only other thing would be the ECU(computer). Start by replacing the coil.
