Explorer intake question

RE: Explorer intake question
It's a great kit, but honestly, I'd find good deals on the parts used and save some cash. Then, use that $ to get gears and do a K&N/CAI and larger MAF. Then headers and exhaust if you have any cash left. You will get better gains than they did, I think....I would bump your timing a little, depending on what octane gas you want to use also. I think you could be closer to 300 to the wheels than they were. Your next mods after the above should be suspension to help get your power to the ground better....or do your suspension first.

RE: Explorer intake question
so I run it by the wife and she said well if it is like $100 go ahead. lol..... I'm going to do something this fall or winter and I would like to start getting some new things, so you think look for used intake (TFS) heads and cam next? What cam to buy? I have been making a list, I have bbk long tube headers, flows and no cats right now. 70mmTB, need to get maf and CAI, looking to spend as little as possible. I have a newer suspension but nothing special, sub-frame connectors, and strut tower brace.

RE: Explorer intake question
If you're going to go w/ engine mods first, I would go in an order similar to this [IMO]:
remove air silencer and go w/ K&N or CAI
bump timing
larger MAF
headers/exhaust
TFS kit or used parts (keep in mind that a used roller cam isn't going to show any wear if the car had good lifters)
remove air silencer and go w/ K&N or CAI
bump timing
larger MAF
headers/exhaust
TFS kit or used parts (keep in mind that a used roller cam isn't going to show any wear if the car had good lifters)
