Default RE: pilot bearing question

Hey,

I just replaced clutch and my pilot bearing looked crappy so I changed it. I went against my better judgement and didn't change the race/holder around the bearing though. It is not really a 'race' since it doesn't have direct contact with the bearings but it still holds the bearing assembly. Anyway, I tried to pull it out but it wasn't working with my crappy puller so I just pushed the new bearing in and called it good. Just an FYI, the race/holder is a beeach to get out.

Fill the hole with heavy grease, then take a pilot of some sort & tap it in. The grease will push behind the bearing & it'll come out in a snap that way.

ORIGINAL: ben5.0

so i have the famous "chirp" comming from my pilot/throw out bearing. its real annoying, but its a pain to change, dropping the trans. ect..
my question is, how many miles can i drive until it goes out? it kno its only like a $10 part, but i really dont have the time/experience/money to do this just yet.
thanks
Not to question your knowledge, but the TO bearing goes on your clutch fork and the pilot bearing fits in the center of your crankshaft [and flywheel]. Just wanted to make sure you knew they were two different parts.
