so i was out delivering pizzas, and i was stopped at a red light for about 30 seconds when the car lightly popped and stalled and spat out a cloud of smoke from the exhaust. i went to start it and it was running way rough, blowing an incredible ammount of coolant smoke out the exhaust. dies if your not careful with giving it enough gas. next time i start it is noisy as hell, luckily only a little push and i was able to coast home pretty easily. so uh...based on my technical recollection of the nights events, does anybody know what might have happened¿ visual inspection of the engine with a flashlight doesnt show any obvios leaks.

it doesn't have to be leaks...when i blew my hg man did it sound bad...then it hydrolocked on me...has your car sat for awhile yet?...chk plugs also...when mine got to a certain temp that's when it blew smoke

hasnt been sitting at all, plugs were about a month old

sounds like a head gasket blew, check your oil

thats what others were saying, right now the oil looks like someone added a few quarts of chocolate milk to it

If you pull the dipstick and there is a milky white/brownish substance.... you blew the head gasket and are leaking coolant into the cylinders...

+1 headgasket, you dont have to be flogging it for it too fail if it's ready too anyway.

take the heads off, tell you real quick, hope you didnt screw up a cylinder or head when it happened.

well, the good news is that i didnt blow a head gasket. the bad news is that i wish i had only blown a head gasket. blew a hole(about a third of the piston) in the piston and ****ed up the combustion chamber. so now i get to look for a new block. frickin yay

apparently. i guess when i paid 2500 for it i expected it wasnt going to be crap. that was back before i knew anything about cars and actually trusted a shop. i never even got around to taking it to a track, now its probably a good thing i hadnt.
