nos and hyper eutectic pistons??

as i read, i see that many manufactures have been putting hyper eutectic pistions in their engines to prolong life. i understand that they are somewhat brittle. i have a 93 5.0 with headers msd ignition bigger injectors and flowmaster exaust with a cai and plug wirs (8mm taylors). the internals of the engine are stock, ie no cam, forged pistions etc. my question.... with 50-100 hp boost of nos, (i was thinking the zex "smart" kit) will the added strain on the engine damage the hyper eutectic pistons or any other engine part, if the engine has no detination?

the 5.0 have forged internals right? and for sure its gonna do some damage but i wouldnt shoot a 100 shot on a stock engine very often, its gonna take a hell of a beating.. change your cams, rockers, heads bore your cylnders, you know basic stuff so that you put less wear and tare on your vehicle for the future...

it'll be fine. i know guys running 150 plus shots on completly stock engines and it doesnt do anything. you just gotta know what you're doing with it.

you all are fast at replies. thanks but still getting mixed signals about nos. as anyone with a half of a brain stem knows, there is going to be more wear and tear on an engine that has nos. so im aware of some of the risks, just did not know with the stock 50 engine.

what kind of a car was your friend running 150 hp stock engine?

im not looking to "track it" all day long, or even run it hard much. i do have plans of getting a gt-40 crate motor some time in the future so im not REALLY concerned with prolonged relaiability... but im not in a hurry to drop a new engine in either.

talk to rsw007 about nitrous on a stock motor.

he runs 11's on a stock 5.0 motor with 150 shot and gears

hes automatic too

i doubt hes even spent over a grand on his car and he makes some LOW passes at the track

he was runnin a 92 GT with the 150 shot.

if you're just gonna use it every once in a while you'll be more than fine. if anything, the nos will seal your piston rings better and restore your compression.

how do you figure it will restore compression and make the piston rings seal better?
