Wicked Wheel Hop!

I know when I bought the car that the guy said that the four shock system wasnt hooked up. I hadnt heard of this so he showed me what he was talking about. When we looked in the rear wheel well, there was a location to hook up a horizontal shock. Sounds like this is a quick fix. Am I right on this?
Also, black89GT, what make were your control arms?
Thanks

You`ll want to get a set for THAT application. Not just a set of shocks, but yes should be easy. I had a 79" that doesn`t have quads and wow that thing was like a jackrabbit. My 90" has the quads, nooooo wheel hop, nice!

Someone mentioned before that the quad shocks should be for "THAT application". What exactly does this mean? Can I buy just plain shocks, or do I need something special for the job?
Thanks for the help funk

RE: Wicked Wheel Hop!
no they are a special little shock, http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...0%201&comp=LRS
just get better lower and upper control arms and forget the quad shocks.
quad shocks were Fords answer to a weakly designed control arm setup.
by putting in stronger control arms you elimnate the need for the quad shocks.
the best thing to control axle rotation or "wheel hop" is a 3link "torqu arm" set-up and you can get rid of your upper control arms as well.

RE: Wicked Wheel Hop!
I looked up a few sets so far. The macs were approx. $150 for uppers and $150 for lowers. Others sold the kits for about $350. Is this typical pricing? This is quite expensive in order to get rid of wheel hop.
Anyone think that I should pay the $110 for the quad shocks r.barn put a link up for above?
