You could have broken your oil pump drive shaft. If you got a noisy lifter or rocker. Then again, as mentioned above, your gauge could just be a piece. Stock gauges are little better than idiot lights. But sometimes those stock oil pump drive shafts break. ARP is the way to go with one of those.

go through them and re-torque them, if you have the stock bolt on ones. I think they go down to 25ft lbs. not positive on that one though. If you have rollers...figure out which one is clattering and loosen it then take it back down till the push rod wont move then go a 1/2 turn on it and make sure you lock the set screw down TIGHT. Otherwise you will be doing this again.

ok well first I would pull the distributor and check the oil pump shaft and make sure it doesnt look like a pretzel. You can use a 1/4 inch socket and ratchet to turn the oil pump and make sure that feels fine, if ok then buy a gauge, if your on a budget go to auto parts store, they are like 20 bucks
