well i just got my car back on the road after having the rearend rebuilt. while it was sitting in my garage i installed my steeda tri-ax. the problem im having is when upshifting from 1st to 2nd it just grinds. i havew to literally pull on the shifter to get it to stay in gear. is this the tranny or maybe just the shifter?

Could be either. Did you adjust the shift stops? Was the problem present before the shifter install?

well i did have a problem when downshifting before, but i have since replaced my clutch and now my shifter, i was kinda hoping that the clutch was all that was wrong. im gonna try adjusting the stops and see if that helps

try tightening the adjustment screws at the base of the shifter all the way in. Sometimes they're out to far and it wont let the shifter go all the way into gear. Most of my friends had this problem.

sounds like it could also be a synchro.
