Default 90 5.0 Hatch, good deal?

There is a 1990 5.0 Hatchback for sale by my house with 64,000 miles for 3,800 bucks, the body is in good shape and the valve cover gasket is leakin but he has another one and the stuts are bad, but also has new ones to put in. Is this a good deal?

Really really low miles...It sounds good to me if the body and everything else is in good shape. Go for it.

the odometer is only 5 digits, are you sure it is 64,000 or could it be 164,000 or 264,000? suggest you do a carfax on it before you buy. leaky valve covers= vacuum leak, but gaskets are easy to replace. 3800 sounds like a good deal even for 164,000 miles. is it a 5-speed? autos are less desirable so resale prices are significantly lower

check pcv valve for the v/c leaking.....look at the torgue boxes, any paint work, do a compression test..sellers says no just walk away...pull the wheels to check brakes, take a pair on drive on stands to check car for leaks, frame work

Well I paid $4000 for my 87 with 100,000 and I think that was a good price. Besides, what do miles matter on a mustang anyway..

Struts will probably cost you $100 if you just get an O.E. replacement out of Pep Boys or something.
I'd really look for rust and torque box problems.
Torque boxes are repairable but it'll be $200 plus getting them welded........
