im switching to the darkside...WS6 ram air
Well I finally made up my mind, Its just so hard to turn it the thought down....I recently started driving a 00 pontiac firebird v-6, its a awsome car, its fairly quick for a v-6 and it comes with 200 hp and 230 tq decently fast...And the car handle awsome...Well, I thought about it and they are just better cars, pontiac just has there **** together. A/c blow extremely cold and gets cold very fast. the car feels sportier, I picked the car I want..I know the ls1 motor is god, So im going to get a 2002 Trans am Ws6 Ram air...they come 345 hp stock, and im going with the 6-speed manual. They just feel so much sportier than the stang and there so much faster stock and handle so much better.Plus the ls1 motor is pulls so hard on the top end...
the Trans am just a better car that will have less problems...its like ford isnt even serious about hp, the newest 05 mustang comes with 305hp, and thats there latest 3 valve..firebirds 02 technology good old push rod with less valve puts out 345 hp. and...they get into the 11's easier than a stang..the firebird looks sick...stock they pull .98 skidpad, thats as if not better than alot of porsches, average porsche pulls like .99 skidpad(Sp?)Not only to mention the firebird actually keeps pulling past 70-80mph, unlike mustangs where they have crappy topend and fall on there face past 70.I have future plans to turbo the trans am, I put a turbo and get like 600hp and run 10's and 9's, lets face it pontiac and chevy were serious about performance, hence 345 stock. FORD has let be down.
Look how badass the firebird is

If you want to run 11's get an auto. The 6 speeds are harder to to make that fast and they tear up rear ends and transmissions more. A good (3600 rpm minimum) converter, drag radials, long tubes, gears, and a few other bolt ons will get into the 11's with an auto car.

ls1's are cool.
friend of mine just got an pewter m6 Z28, pretty quick to begin with then we put a cutout, nittos and a lid on it and its not bad at all.
my little gt40p headed 302 car will maul it, but my car has a **** load done to it, his has two things.
just get one with lower miles, his has 120k+ on it he got it for 6500 and makes bottom end noise and stuff. those cars live hard lives so shell out the cash and get a nice one under 30k.

Yeah, the camaros look like geo storms and the firebirds look like probes. They weigh more and are much more exspensive to mod. I have a friend with a 94 LT1 and the similar mods we do, he spends more on everything.
Also, you're comparing apples to hand grenades with the fox and ls1 f-body. The ls1 is what a 3rd gen motor and the 302 is a 1960s based engine. And the LS1 doesn't have 345HP stock, either, sorry. Also the suspension designs are totally different also. Again age difference and design comes to play. Either way the fox can be upgraded and you'd still be in less debt doing so. Just my 2 cents.
