my sad *** dyno numbers are in
well i had my car dynoed yesterday, and like i said it was sad. 285 hp,and 307 tq. to the wheels. i have an 88gt d.s.s pro bullit short block, afr 185's. comp cams .512/.512 lift 224/230 dur. with a 112 l/s. rpm intake, accufab 70mm t-body. pro-m 75mm.cal,for 24lbs inj. l/t headers x-pipe 2 chamber flows dumped. timing was set at 14,and my fuel pressure was set at 32lbs. that was the best we could get out of it. does it sound like i need a chip burned for it? if you guys have any input let me know....thanks.

Ummm, I don't know the answer to your questions, but give the post more than 45 minutes before wondering if anyone will answer you. Sometimes it may be a day or so to get answers. And remember, it's Easter weekend. People may be doing other things.

Is 32psi right for those injectors? iirc stock ones like to see 38psi and the 30 lb ones Ive got said to run about 42psi. And for heavens sake do tune the thing. Stock ECU is calibrated for a compromise between emissions, fuel economy, and power. More emphasis on the first two. If you're good with computers you might try tuning it yourself with a Tweecer or some other system. Vfast likes the PMS.
With the Tweecer you can tell the ECU exactly what the flow of your MAF is, which injectors you've got (so it knows how much fuel to squirt, instead of trying to be tricked by the MAF), what the displacement is, etc. It's also expecting the engine to flow X amount of air, and even though it sees a lot more air going through the MAF it's not going to be right without tuning. I bet you could get a LOT of extra power out of that thing.
FWIW you're putting about 20hp/20ft-lbs down more than mine (cutting at 5000rpm though) and your setup is more sorted... I'm running 30lb injectors because eventually I'd like to force feed it. I've got a 70mm maf (which will have to go), 70mm tb, perf products intake, f303 cam, performer heads, shorty headers, h pipe, 40 series flows out the back. With those 185 AFR's I'd expect you to be putting down a fair bit more power.
I can't wait to get mine tuned.

32lbs is what it liked. the first pull was 275/294,it was so rich we all had to leave the area.that was set at 36lbs! the plugs were gassy as hell too. what i didn't understand was on the graph i'm strong until 5800 rpm's then it dropped off like a rock! the cam,and intake are good for 6200 thats why i think i'm starving between 4250-6200,if i can get the graph up you'll see my tq peeks at 4000,but at 4250-4500 both my hp and tq has a nice chunk taken out then picks up a little.if any of you guys can read a dyno sheet let me know.

Hey Grabbem what intake did you say you have? Who put the engine together? To me it sounds computer but im no genius. i figured you would have over 300 horse easy to the rear wheels ..

the intake is an edelbrock rpm....d.s.s did the short block the rest was me and a freind helped.the only other thing is i had to put my 170 million mile distibutor back on had to send my msd stuff back for repairs.

don't understand the low fuel pressure. my stock '88 AOD with a chip on the computer ran at 38 psi stock and is now running 44 psi with the stock injectors since I got an adjustable regulator and I'm thinking about adding some more pressure above that level. the cam may be good to 6,200 rpm, but that don't mean that's where the torque or HP will peak out at. post your dyno charts and let us see them, they're people out here who can help you out with them. a custom chip may definitely be in order for your combo too.
