Whats your setup going to be? If you need them also, the wait is worth it.

I would definately run more cam than that with those heads, not much duration whatsoever. Have comp or crane grind a cam for ya, results will be 10 times better. What sprng does AFR use? PSI, comp, crane?

I think the cam is pretty good. I'm not doing bottom end yet so with my 1.7 rockers I had trouble finding a cam that would clear the pistons. Its also emissions legal, computer controlled compatible, and cheap so it fits everything i was lookin for. Its capable of over 300whp with those heads on a 302 so I figure its as good as any, i think a lot of times people tend to go overboard with their cam...

No wise people have a cam ground for them that fits their current components instead of a one size fits all cam, especially when price for a ground cam is in the same ballpark. Heres my prediction, you have a killer head and in 6 months will want more and will change to another cam and spend twice as much. People would rather spend 100 dollars 3 times than 200 dollars once. Good Luck

eh, i think ur partially right. I eventually want to boost it in which case id need another custom cam made for me because of all the new parts, and nobody will want the old one b/c they'd need the exact same setup as me, so its wasted. I am pretty conservative when it comes to modding my car so I didnt want an agreesive cam to start with... the Crane is 180, ive seen custom cams cost almost twice that...

LOL! like mine....ptvc would be my concern...about duration...some say a shorter dur. will increase cylinder pressure which in there terms makes more hp?....

I would stay at 80 thou for clearance as for duration there are a few considerations. Longer duration will help to fill the cylinder but then you have to watch overlap and bleeding it off, I ALWAYS use a custom ground cam for my projects or for anyones motors I build. Off the shelf cams are great if you are extremely tight on money and dont mind losing some HP somewhere along the rpm range

well ol'chap you are the first person to ever agree with me on "custom cams"....considering onyx's motor a 224/230 dur or a 222/226...dur is iffy...spring pressure would be my deciding point...after clearance...then i'd go all out.
