Default MAF Conversion Kit from Summit

I have been doing a lot of reading through the forums regarding MAF conversions, but everyone I read seems to involve someone trying to do the conversion based on parts they have gathered. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the complete MAF Conversion Kit that summit sells, found here: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

I am interested in doing the conversion and wanted to know if this was really a plug and play system, and therefore easy for a beginner to do? Or is this something that will require a lot of tuning, etc?

I have an 88 GT 5.0 with speed density in case anyone wanted to know.

Any input would be appreciated.

that kit will not work on you car....it's really for street rod conversions...i bought one and the fuel pump would not turn on....that harness has the fuel relay on the harness.

What is the gains on running maf over speed density? Can't you tune speed density for motor mods like heads and cams?

I understand that there will not be a big difference over speed density on a completely stock car, but I do plan on doing some things and from my research, converting to MAF would be required to benefit from any modifications.

Therefore I want to hear from anyone that has used that kit.

The reason you aren't hearing anyone comment on that kit is because it is a waist of money. Those parts can be had at a very reasonable price if you look around. I picked up absolutely everything I needed for my swap for $50. There is a step by step tech article on this forum that tells you everything that you need to do. These cars are wrecked/swapped over to carb everyday,so the parts are definitely out there. You just have to look around a bit.
