Default Rotor ques...

This mayb a dumb ques but how do u tell if u need new rotors? And wut rotors an brake pads should i buy from pep boys or autozone that r best for my 91 lx? (daily driver)

have them try to machine them and they will tell you if there good or not, as for pads the EBC green stuff pads work well

run your finger across them, from top to bottom. if they are very rough or have deep grooves its time for new ones.

What are your symptoms? Does the steering wheel shake when you hit the brakes. You can measure the thickness of them w/ a rotor micrometer to determine their thickness.

never hurts to get new rotors, they say to turn rotors everytime you change the pads, but no one does. For pads just get whatever ceramic pads you can get with the longest warranty. As i always say why spend money on brakes when i never use em.

Mine are glazed which makes the pedal feel like I have no power brakes, because the guy before me put new pads on old rotors. I'll probably just get some EBC replacement rotors and pads since they have them at OK Auto and I get them at cost.

These days it's almost best just to get new rotors...

ya the steering wheel will sake and bounce when you break if you rotors are bad... also they could look deformed a lil bit with grooves.
