Default turn signal switch

What could cause the turn signals to not work?
Every once & a while the headlights will turn off, i have to wiggle the switch to make them come back on. I've tried replacing the switch with the one out of my friends 87 GT, no luck. All the fuses are good. I've replaced the flasher under the fuse box. I've heard there is another flasher near the glovebox.

When your headlights flicker, are your fogs on? Mine used to do that. I turned off the fogs and they stopped going out. If you need a new switch, they're like 30 bucks at Advance or Autozone.

As far as turn signals, you might need a new multi-function switch, which is the one on the column.

Check www.50resto.com for a new switch unit. My headlights shut off too and I fear that this might happen to mine eventually. You can get the kit there for the headlight and multifunction switch for $200.

Yes, the fog lights are on when they do it. I think i've tried turning them off when the lights went out, They stayed out... My running lights stay on, but the headlights went out. The one I replaced was the one on the steering column. I figured it was the switch causing it, but apparently not.

Could this be the hazard switch? Before I had tried using my turn signals only to find that my hazard light switch was on. It's off now, but could it be a possibility?

Try replacing the switch in the dash, the one with the headlight and foglight toggles. They burn up quite often. I actually had mine catch on fire before I replaced it. It pops out very easily with a flathead screwdriver, and it's really easy and pretty cheap to replace.

Ah... Not the switch, it's the wire going to the switch... Aparently that is the cause of my turn signal switch going out. & it appears to be a problem on all the foxes. Thanks for tip
